    About the Retina

The thin layer of tissue lining the back of the eye is called the retina. It is made up of millions of light-sensitive cells (rods and cones) that take in and arrange visual data. The primary function of the retina is to transform light into neural impulses, which are then sent to the brain through the optic nerve, allowing humans to see.

    Common Retinal Conditions We Treat

    Diabetic Retinopathy

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to Diabetic Retinopathy, an eye condition where high blood sugar damages the small blood vessels in the retina, the area at the back of the eye that is sensitive to light. It can cause severe vision loss and perhaps blindness if left untreated.

    Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
