Dr T.Thirumalai Kumar MBBS., MS [ Ophthalmology ] a renowned Ophthalmic Surgeon completed his MBBS degree in JSS Medical College, then Mysore University in 1995 in first class. Since he had a passion for Ophthalmology he wanted to take up ophthalmology. He joined his MS Ophthalmology in Madurai Medical College in 1997. Since he liked to serve the rural people he started his career in a rural area of Ramnad district before joining Aravind Eye Hospital.

At Aravind Eye Hosptial, he was heading the Cataract & IOL services. He also expertised in advanced Glaucoma treatments. He also got trained in Refractive procedures including LASIK, Customized LASIK, PRK procedures and ICL implantations. In Vasan Eye Care, he was the Medical Director & Chief Medical Officer.
In his 20 years of experience he has performed more than a lakh cataract surgeries with IOL implantation by Phacoemulsification successfully. To his credit he has attended and presented papers both national and international ophthalmic conferences.
He is a treasure of knowledge and his keen interests in ophthalmology are:
